Our current programs for adults include:
Individualized music therapy: Music is a universal human experience and touches us in ways that we are just now learning to measure. Music therapy uses this powerful, reinforcing medium to assist people of all ages and all abilities work on non-music goals such as stress reduction, pain management and skill acquisition. Thus, music therapy is an appropriate intervention for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities, neurological differences, acquired disabilities, mental health issues and age related disabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, people with:
• Parkinson’s Disease
• Traumatic Brain Injuries
• Alzheimer’s and age related dementia
• Substance abuse issues
• Acute and chronic pain
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Down syndrome
• Developmental and learning disorders
• And more
Music Therapy sessions are conducted by Board Certified Music Therapists and include non-musical goals and outcomes.

Individual music and adaptive music lessons: Currently we are offering piano, guitar, bass, violin, voice, drums and percussion lessons for people of all ages and abilities. Please call our office for more information: 775.324.5521.
Group music and dance classes:
- Keyboard Class, Mondays 4:15-5:00: This is a beginning keyboard class that welcomes people of all ages and abilities. No keyboard experience necessary, and keyboards are available to use.
- Guitar Class, Thursdays, 4:30-5:15: This is a beginning/intermediate class for
adults and seniors. Some experience playing guitar is needed. Please contact Manal to determine if this is an appropriate class for you: 775.324.5521 - Exploring Music 1, Tuesdays, 4:00-5:00: This is an “experiential” music class that exposes participants to singing, song writing, percussion, dance and other music “experiences.” This class is for adults and seniors of all abilities.
- Exploring Music 2, Thursdays, 3:15-4:00: This is an “experiential” music class that exposes participants to singing, song writing, percussion, dance and other music “experiences.” This class is for teens and young adults of all abilities.
- Dance/Movement Class, Wednesdays 3:00-4:00 and 4:15-5:15: A mix of many forms of
dance and creative movement, choreography and free dance make this a high-energy class for teens and adults of all abilities. For more information call Wendy at 775.324.5521. - Community Drum Circle, Currently on hold: Open to people of all ages and abilities, participants will learn the basics of drumming and percussion and then use those skills to make music with the group. Bring your own drum or borrow one of ours.
Performance Opportunities: The Note-Ables also has a professional band that performs 30-40 gigs a year throughout Northern Nevada. Auditions for the performance group happen each Spring and Fall. For more information call Manal at 775.324.5521.
